Anaise Nirva Charles returned to her heavenly home on May 18th, 2020 comforted by her husband Jacques Charles.
Nirva was born in Jacmel, Haiti on January 6, 1944 to Lucindre and Rene Foy. Nirva was the second and youngest daughter after her sister Emmanuelita. Nirva met her future husband, Jacques in 1963 and after 4 years of courtship, she married the love of her life on March 18, 1967.
Nirva loved taking care of others and did so for most of her life. She started work in the medical care industry in 1973 and became a Registered Nurse in 1981. She worked for many hospitals and private care facilities during her career in New York and Florida. Nirva retired from nursing in 2012, but never stopped caring for the many people in her life.
As a devoted wife, mom, tante, grandma, and friend, she shared her beautiful sewing talents by making clothes and items for many. Tante Nirva was a critical part of her family and supported friends and family from Haiti. She welcomed everyone into her home and helped where and when she could. She built a large network of friends, coworkers and acquaintances that admired and respected her.
She loved her kids, but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She always said, “it’s not about just my kids, it’s the legacy we leave behind.” She was the heart and core of all our lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Ramses, sister Emma, and granddaughter Nyomi.
Nirva is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jacques Charles, 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Carl, Jacques Jr, Danielle Dunn, Marvin and Kristen Charles, Edwin Charles and Kristy Trammell. She is survived by 7 nieces and nephews: Bridget, Ramses Jr, Betty, Jerry, Marley, Dona, and Ana. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Angelique, Moises, Monet, Josh, Marcus, Giovanni, Anaise, Tayla, Dominick, Nathalia, Darrell Jr., Arianna, Bella, Kingston, Prince, Madison, and another boy on the way; 12 grandnieces and grandnephews: Martina, Princessa, Javel, Tatiana, Cherina, Joloire, Destiny, Ulysses, Cheyenne, Nylah, Chloe, and Danny II; 8 great-grandchildren: Camryn, Ashlyn, Audrey, Lillianna, Abigail, Cassidy, Adley, and another girl, Hazel, on the way; and 2 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews: Khalani and Jayce.
