Alverda F. Grover's Obituary
Alverda F. Grover, age 89, of Spring Hill, FL (formerly of Cambridge, MN and Bemidji, MN) passed peacefully from her earthly home to her eternal heavenly home on December 18, 2013.Alverda Florella Grover was born on March 15, 1924 in Minerva, Minnesota to Clarence and Mable (Ness) Fultz and was the second oldest of 11 children. After graduating from Bagley High School she studied at Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN. On January 14, 1946 she married Robert F. Grover in Spokane, Washington and together they raised four children and served the Lord in several churches throughout northern Minnesota.Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was the foundation on which Alverda lived her life. She exemplified this faith by her tremendous peace, her commitment to prayer, and her great burden for those who do not yet know Christ. You would often hear her break out in song with a special hymn or words of praise to her Savior. She used many teachable moments with her grandchildren to share significant spiritual truths about Christ. She has passed on a rich spiritual heritage and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.Alverda loved gardening and flowers, especially her yellow rose bush which was a special gift from Bob. She was also very tech savvy and was regularly on Facebook and used her iPad for her daily Bible reading.Alverda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Grover, one grandson, Robbie Redding, one great-granddaughter, Logan Lundberg, and three brothers.Alverda will lovingly be remembered by her four children, Debbie (Gary) Redding of Andover, MN, Cheri (Carl) Lundberg of Spring Hill, FL, Kathie (Gayle) Nestrud of Spring Hill, FL and Dawson (Karen) Grover of Coon Rapids, MN; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; seven siblings and many other relatives and friends.A memorial service will be held at Stanchfield Baptist Church in Stanchfield, MN on Saturday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. A light lunch will follow interment.
