Bartz, Albert George, 90, of Odessa, Florida, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Gulfside Regional Hospice of Hudson, FL.Albert leaves his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Bartz(Pohl), his son David, daughter-in-law Claire and gandsons Christopher and Matthew Bartz. He is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Muck, of Lockport, N.Y.Born and raised in East Amherst, N.Y., a suburb of Buffalo, on July 11, 1922, the son of the late George and Elizabeth Bartz, he and his wife moved to Florida in 1980 to be with their son.Albert was an active member of Clarence United Methodist Church in Clarence, N.Y. and later Hudson United Methodist Church in Hudson, Fl., where he served as maintenance custodian and long time usher. Albert will be remembered for his smile, quick whit and friendly handshake.Albert served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the Central European Tour.
