Achilles Koulouvaris' Obituary
Achilles Koulouvaris, 86, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 12, 2025. Born on October 9, 1938, in Athens, Greece, he was the beloved son of Christoforos Koulouvaris and Aimilia Loumakos.
Raised in a lively household with four sisters and five brothers, Achilles grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and the constant hum of activity—a foundation that shaped his joyful and energetic spirit.
A master mechanic from the age of 14, Achilles was known far and wide as “Mastra Achilleas apo Pagrati” for his extraordinary mechanical talents. He opened his own business in Greece as a teenager and never stopped tinkering with cars—a passion that defined much of his life.
In 1965, Achilles moved from Greece to Canada, then to Chicago in 1970, and finally settled in Florida in 1973—a place he lovingly called “paradise.” He embraced life in the United States with deep patriotism and joy.
Achilles was a man of many passions. He loved to cook, visit casinos, and travel—especially to see family and friends. Never one to stay still, he lived life to the fullest, always on the move and always with a smile. In his younger years, he traveled the world, collecting stories and memories. But his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his humor, kindness, positivity, and boundless energy. Achilles had a heart full of love and a spirit that lifted everyone around him.
He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Emily (husband, Curt Thomas); sons, Christopher and Lou; grandchildren: Achilles (wife, Eva), Bobby (wife, Airien), Christina (husband, Aki), Christian (wife, Emily), Madison (fiancée, Andy), and Louie; great-grandchildren: Evan, Angie (fiancée, Panos), Andy, Demetri, Damon, Dio, Eleni, Vasili, and Emilia; and soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter, Olivia (due August 9). He is also survived by his sisters: Stavroula, Eirini, and Popi.
Achilles leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
