Joan was a lifelong friend whom I will cherish always and will always remember the great times we had growing up and all the pranks her dad played on us. Joan was a true friend and a loving person who loved dogs flowers and ducks. She was so proud of her children. She will surely be missed by everyone who knew her.
One of my most fond vacation memories was with Joan. We drove down to the Everglades from Ft Myers for an airboat ride. Little did we know, the mosquitos were large enough to carry you away and in great abundance at our destination. We exited the car and immediately started swatting and ran into a gift shop hoping to purchase some bug repellent. The employee of this remote gift shop informed us they were sold out of bug spray! I remember Joan asking the woman if she had her own personal stash behind the counter and begging her to let us use it. While laughing at our lack of preparedness we found bug repellent lotion. We lathered up in the middle of the store not caring who saw us. Our airboat ride was so much fun and no mosquito bites or West Nile virus. She was always up for an adventure and a great buddy to go on vacation . Fly high with the angels sweet lady. I will see you again when my turn comes.
Joan and I have been friends since we were 14. We spent our teenage years having fun and sharing the trials of being teenage girls. We lost touch for a number of years and got back together again after my Mother died. I will miss her greatly.
