John Walter Levitt, 86, of Hudson, Florida passed away on Saturday May 16, 2020. John was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Merle and Kathryn Levitt on June 6, 1933. He was retired from both the US Air Force and the US Postal service, serving his country proudly as both an airman and a civilian. While in the Air Force, John served as a medic in the Vietnam War. He loved his family very much, loved to travel and he loved to bake pumpkin pies for the holidays – it was his signature dish! John is survived by, Yvonne, his loving wife of 37 years. He is also survived by daughters Debbie Lamb and Bonnie Dubin-Cole (Joi), son dale Cole, brothers Howard Levitt (Donna), Harvey Levitt (Patricia) and Tom Levitt (Diane), grandchildren Christopher Melchi (Tebia), Tom Brdar (Rachel), Jacqueline Toombs (Bryan), Joshua Pattenaude (Charla) and Jacob Pattenaude, 14 great grand children, 1 great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his daughter Holly Pattenaude, sisters Ann, Pat and Noreen, and brothers Bill, Richard and Ralph. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2020 at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Highway 19 North, Hudson, Florida, 34667, 727-863-5471 from noon until 2pm. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, at 2pm. Interment will be at a future date at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Florida.
