Claude C. Stuart (Stu), 101, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at HPH Hospice , Brooksville, Florida. Stu, as he was affectionately called by friends and family, was born in Richland, Virginia to Ray and Eleanor Stuart and raised in West Virginia. He joined the US Army where he proudly served from 1937-1945 with the 1st Armored Division. While stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He met his best friend and the love of his life Lorraine Ducharme, who was also serving in the US Army at the time. Stu and Lorraine had 66 wonderful years of marriage together, raising their family in Milford, Connecticut. Stu worked as a mechanic before moving to Port Richey, Florida, upon retirement in 1982. Stu loved his family, the sunshine and a good glass of red wine. Stu was predeceased by his wife Lorraine, his sister Virginia and brothers Charles and Granville. He is survived by his loving daughter Melanie Hall, son Raymond and wife Rose Stuart. As well as grandchildren Dawn Hall Varvaro, Patty Hall Yager, Michael Hall, Susan Stuart Trump, Bryan, Kristin, Sarah, and Brendon Stuart along with seven great grandchildren. There will be a Catholic Memorial Service at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, Florida on Saturday, October 10th at 11:00am with interment to follow at Grace Memorial Cemetery. Grace Memorial Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Hwy. 19 North, Hudson, FL, 34667, 727-863-5471 is in charge of arrangements.
